DICSA receives ISO 14001 Certification for Outstanding Environmental Practices
DICSA an environmentally committed and responsible company. We have implemented the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS), ISO 14001. This Certificate is a set of standards put forward by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Its purpose is to clarify the best practices for organizations that wish to reduce their environmental footprint by adopting an effective environmental management system (EMS).
EMS systems are designed to monitor and report upon the environmental sustainability of DICSA, for both internal and external stakeholders. They are used both for compliance purposes—allowing them to avoid fines or public relations (PR) scandals—and to increase business efficiency, such as by reducing waste through the manufacturing or distribution cycle.
/Suppliers environmental assessment /
We are also involving our suppliers and partner organisations to our commitment to environmental sustainability to be effective. Both are also helping us to reduce the impact of manufacturing processes on the environment, and on the health of those working and living in and around the sites where our products are made. For instance, we have set a new goal to reduce plastic waste in packaging and we collaborate with our suppliers to get it.
/DICSA Green Deal/
We have also developed an environmental programme called, DICSA Green Deal, which main objective is to reduce our overall Carbon Footprint by 60 percent, in only five years. In addition, we have made a great investment to achieve sustainable energy system. We have made significant and meaningful progress in increasing production, minimizing environmental impact.
/Products fully recyclable /
Products manufactured by DICSA are fully recyclable. This percentage is slightly lower for the distributed products, which percent of recyclability amounts to 85 percent. At the same time, raw material used by DICSA, stainless steel, comes from recycled materials. Carbon steel is also recyclable.
/ISO 14001: Environmental management systems (EMS)/
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS) and the most widely used EMS in the world, with over 360,000 ISO 14001 certificates issued globally. ISO 14001 is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. This helps to control environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance. ISO 14001 is accompanied by ISO 14004 Environmental Management Systems – General Guidelines on principles, systems and support techniques. The standard covers issues such as the establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of an EMS.
